Corporate Social Responsibility at MRCC
We at MRCC identify with the importance of
taking responsibility for the way that our company impacts the society and the
environment at large. We value the world and the society that we are an
integral part of and associate highest importance to our role of corporate
citizenship. It has been our constant endeavour to support and service the
society as ardently as we service our customers.
We are humbled to share the details of some
of our social initiatives:
1) Initiative by MRCC @ Nallasopara
Mr. Anil Shah,
our President & CEO has been at the forefront taking responsibility and working
for social causes.
Having a roof
over one’s head is the most primary need of a person. Recognizing
this need, MRCC built a housing complex by the name ‘MRCC Park’ at Nallasopara which
provides ready residential homes, presented to about 65+ families struggling
without a stable shelter. This was a unique initiative to uphold their right to
a basic standard of living.
Keeping up
with our responsibility towards the environment, ainitiative that we took up at
Nallasopara in June 2014,involved Tree Plantation. Through this activity, our
employees found great value in creating awareness about the importance of
cultivating and preserving greenery.
Apart from the
tree planation and shelter provision initiatives, another initiative at
Nallasopara was opening of a Computer Lab at MRCC Park. The lab was opened with
the vision to improve access to quality computer education for the residents of
MRCC Park. It was an enriching experience for our employees who voluntarily contributed
to the initiative by dedicating time, teaching computer basics. With this
initiative, school kids, housewives and working professionals received know-how
and access to the intriguing world of technology.
MRCC also
conducted formal computer classes at Navneet Nagar, Dombivali.
These
initiatives proved to be instrumental in creating awareness among people about
tree plantation, providing shelter and creating a common platform for people to
discuss technology, thereby bringing in a purposeful and meaningful positive
change.
2) IT
Industry Orientation
Being an IT organization, we
promote a culture of knowledge sharing for the overall development of
individuals.
On 3rd July 2015, we
invited engineering students from K.V.O. Seva Samaj to our development centre
in Thane for a formal career guidance session. In this session, our employees
had a tete a tete with the students sharing information on the functioning of I.T.
industry, how they can contribute to the IT industry, the skills they may
require, practical application of the acquired skills and the best practices to
consider for an interview/selection process.
Our senior employees dedicated
their valuable time and conducted these sessions for aspiring apprentices that
would help them take the right decisions for their career growth and
development. Our COO, Mr. Jayanta Sen also made time for the students and
shared his insights that would help them in future.
3) Blood Donation Camp
MRCC organizes blood donation
camps in its offices with an aim to contribute towards the society and save
lives.
On 24th June 2016, a
whopping 100 plus employees turned up to support a blood donation camp for
children suffering from Thalassemia. We salute the generous donors of MRCC and
appreciate such strong inclination towards a noble cause.
Donors were given certificates for
their contributions acknowledging them for taking a step towards helping these
wonderful kids.
4) Cloth / Material Collection Drive
MRCC is privileged to have
partnered with an NGO to work towards the betterment of our society and its
people rather innovatively.
With the initiative named ‘Cloth
for Work’, it was a fulfilling experience for employees who contributed their
bit by sharing extra clothes and other material they possessed. The NGO
collaborated with the villagers in rural areas for developing the
infrastructure of their villages. The villagers under the guidance of the N
GO performed several activities, such as cleaning of wells, constructing bridges and creating water reservoirs. In return, the NGO presented well sorted packages of material to the villagers that were accepted with great pride and happiness. The age-old tradition of charity was turned into a culture of regular and dignified earning for rural areas.
With an overwhelming response
from MRCCians, we made a contribution which included clothes, shoes, notepads
and even prams. Our act of the material contribution made a positive difference
in the day-to-day lives of the villagers.
At MRCC along with our employees,
we uphold our social responsibility at high priority and aim at activities that
would focus on the well-being of individuals and would lead to a sustainable
society.
We have come to realise that
while these activities allow us to make a positive contribution to our society,
it is our employees who benefit the most. The feeling of satisfaction on being
part of these initiatives is unparalleled.
